Sited on the middle reach of the Mai River in the Ilam district of the eastern part of Nepal, Mai Beni Hydropower Plant is a Run-of-River type plant with an installed capacity of 9.51 MW. The major components lie between an elevation of 490m and 645m above mean sea level.  Located at 5 Km (road distance) from the Mechi Highway, the plant is in operation since September 17, 2021.
